I buy all my glasses and contacts from Clearly. Good prices and selection, fast shipping and, good customer service. The last time I had to return a pair there was a small glitch in the process but I called again and it was quickly fixed.

Shook by the customer service

I’ve been buying glasses and contacts from clearly for years now and I have never had any problems with this company before. But recently I had bought a pair of glasses and after one week of owning them, the arm broke off. I was shook by the quality of the customer service. When I contacted customer service to get a replacement, the agent started by asking how they broke; which is a reasonable question. So I explained that the screw fell out and when I went to screw it back in, the mount that is glued to the arm came off. Then the agent had some follow up questions; where do I store them, how do I clean them, how many hours a day to I wear them, have I ever dropped them on the ground..... In my opinion, none of that should matter because they glasses were still under warranty. And the circumstances in which they broke is not unusual. Then I was told I had to take a bunch of pictures and email them in, which is also a reasonable request. But then I was told that the optometrist would review the pictures to see if they “qualify” for the replacement. And if they do “qualify” then I would have to send the broken glasses back and once they were received at the warehouse, they would make a new pair and ship it to me. The agent would get in tonight with me by email and let me know what the answer is. (I never received and email FYI, and had to email support all over again) So basically, they are telling me that I will just have to go without my glasses for a few weeks because they want to make sure I didn’t break my glasses on purpose? I don’t like that a customer should have to jump through so many hoops for a service that was already paid for. The glasses are still under warranty. They broke while being used normally. Replace them without putting the customer out. It’s as simple as that. I ended up having to fix the broken glasses myself. I super glued the mount back in. And they are holding up but next time I want glasses, I’ll be going to eyebuydirect.com
